Free Consultation
I respond to inquiries within two business days, Monday through Friday. Inquiries received Friday afternoon are addressed on Monday. I look forward to working with you! Please check your junk mail or spam folders if you have not heard from me within that time frame.
The free consult call will provide us with 30 minutes to get to know each other, ask questions, and see if we might be a good fit for therapy. There is absolutely no pressure to book at the end of the call. We will hang up and I’ll let you decide if you want to move forward with scheduling a first session with me.
Consent & Intake Forms
If you decide to move forward with a first session, you will call or email me to let me know after our free consult call. (Yay!) I will set up a client account for you on the platform I use for virtual therapy, and send you forms for you to read and sign. These forms are an acknowledgment of my policies (scheduling, payment, and cancellation), consent to participate in virtual therapy, and an authorization to charge your credit card. Once you have emailed these forms back to me, we will be able to schedule our first session.
Our First Session
This session as a more in depth “getting to know you” to help us get started. I like to think of therapy like you’ve invited me over to your metaphorical home. What are the “house rules”, how many rooms are there and what’s in them, should I take my shoes off before coming inside? We may not make it to the scary basement on day 1, but that’s okay. This session is all about starting the tour and beginning to explore the house together. You can show me around at your own pace, and you are welcome to ask me more about myself as well.
Scheduling & Cancellations
I recommend that we meet once a week for the first 6 sessions so that we can maintain momentum and not spend too much time at the start of each session playing catch up. I want you to get the most that you can from working with me! After 6 weeks of therapy, we can re-assess if weekly scheduling is working for you or if you would like to meet at a different frequency.
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy to protect both your and my time. The time slot that we schedule together is saved for you. If something comes up and you’d like to reschedule 24 hours in advance, I’m happy to work with you to find a better suited time! Less than 24 hours and you will still be charged for the cancelled session. In the event that I need to reschedule, I will offer you two alternate times. If neither of these times work, the session will be cancelled at no financial obligation to you. I want to be up front about this now so that if it comes up later, we already understand the game plan. Sorting out policies mid-therapy can be awkward and distracting to your process.
Insurance Reimbursment
I do not take insurance, and therefore would be considered “Out of Network” by most insurance companies.
If you would like to submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement, I can create a document called a “Superbill.” This document has all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company each month for reimbursement, but you would be financially responsible for the up front cost of sessions.
If you are interested in a flexible payment plan to align these costs with your income schedule please reach out.
Billing
I offer both 45 and 60 minute sessions.
You will be charged within 24 hours following each session. You have the opportunity to securely save a credit card on file as part of your client portal.
Once 30 days have past since the bill was issued to you, it is considered past due and will accrue a $25 late fee which repeats every 15 days.
